The first thing is to explain what this driver changes in the intel 945GM. It's pretty simple. The discovery is done by 2 kids and it is nothing less than to run the Intel 945GM chipset and the gma950 graphic card with another model of the intel brand graphics chipset/card driver, specifically the intel 965gm driver.
The consequences are basically the ability to play many new games that are impossible to play with the native driver 945GM (halflife 2, Call of Duty 2 .etc..), the ability to play many games without using L & H software emulators like 3D ANALYZE or SWIFTSHADER (Painkiller, Chernobyl stalker ...) and a clear increase in performance of the vast majority of +2001 3D games
HOW TO INSTALLATION 945GM MOD DRIVER
The steps for modding VISTA 945GMA950 DRIVER are:
1) Firstly download the winvista_15111.exe ("Production Release Version of Microsoft Windows Vista * Driver Revision: 15.11.1.1545 for Intel 965gm chipset) file.

2) Once downloaded you were not capable to install it because this 1545 driver seeks 965gm chipset hardware and obviously it can not find it (your hardware is a 945gm). We are going to be tricked into installing on our system. How? Easy.
3) Extract the autorun (winvista_15111.exe) into a folder on your hd (i.e. c:modriver) with winrar, alzip or similar.
Then look inside for a the folder Graphics and a file called Graphics/Igdhl.inf
Open it with the notepad.exe and look for these 2 sentences:
iBWGC0%% = i965G0, PCIVEN_8086 & DEV_29A2
iBWGC1%% = i965G1, PCIVEN_8086 & DEV_29A3
replace both the (9) with "7" in this way:
iBWGC0%% = i965G0, PCIVEN_8086 & DEV_27A2
iBWGC1%% = i965G1, PCIVEN_8086 & DEV_27A3
close the notepad and save.
4) Under C:modriver find the setup.exe, run it and you will see that now the 965gm driver instalation utility begins the installation.
At the end of the installation, it will ask you for a reset. Do it. After a few minutes your VISTA will be working with the new driver and easily you will find in the properties of your desktop or in the device manager that your PC is running with as a intel 965GM card/chipset. GOOOOOOOOOOOD
5) The last step will be registering your games in the driver's registry.
To do this edit a new file with notepad.exe on your desktop and include these sentences:

"~ gamename.exe" = dword: 00000001
.. where gamename.exe is the name of the main exe of each game (you can find out every game .exe in processes of the Windows Task Manager with ctrl+alt+supr) examples: hl2.exe, a51.exe, halo.exe ....
include/add one line for each of your games and save your addgame.reg on the desktop.
Here it is my addgame.reg as example:

Finally click on the desktop famous addgame.reg to add this information to register, click accept and ready (no need to reset): all your games were be executing with the 965GM DRIVER FABULOUS emulation.
For adding more games, add them to the list, save the changes and again click the addgame.reg.
To take off the modriver emulation (in case of any game malfunction or for testing) change the 1 to 0, close, save and re-execute addgame.reg.

Finally only tell you that compile this info was not easy for me. Parts of the steps/instructions were separated in several forums, the links of the 965gm driver were incorrect... Now I hope that it is well compiled and more useful for all you 945gm users and ... of course i hope your comments. And for you JOSE VILLEGAS from "chw.net .... corren gma950" only tell you that it is also yours.
Finally just say that the trick to install this 1545 945gm modriverfor on Windows XP is basically the same but you will must to look for another driver file that is the same 1545 version for the same 965gm chipset but for WINDOWS XP. Seei it.
This trick works only with version 1545 (Vista and XP) of the Intel 965gm chipset.

COMO MODEAR EL DRIVER 945GM EN VISTA
Lo primero de todo es explicar que esto del driver modificado de la945gm. Es bastante simple. Es un descubrimiento llevado a cabo por 2chavales y consiste en nada menos que hacer funcionar la controladoraintel gma950 y su chipset 945gm con el driver de otro modelo decontroladora de la marca intel, concretamente la 965gm.
Las consecuencias de este "engańo" al chipset son basicamente laposibilidad de jugar muchos juegos nuevos imposibles de jugar con eldriver nativo 945gm (halflife 2, call of duty 2 ... ), la posibilidadde jugar muchos juegos H&L sin utilizar emuladores tipo 3D ANALYZEo SWIFTSHADER (painkiller, stalker chernobyl...) y un claro incrementoen el rendimiento de la gran mayoria de los juegos 3D especialmenteaquellos posteriores a 2000-1.
Los PASOS A SEGUIR para MODEAR el DRIVER 945GMA950 en VISTA son los siguientes:
1) Bajarse de Internet el fichero winvista_15111.exe que es la"Production Version Release Microsoft Windows Vista* del DriverRevision: 15.11.1.1545 para el chipset Intel 965gm.
2) Una vez bajado no lo vais a poder instalar porque el dr1545 busca elchipset 965gm y no lo encuentra claro. Lo que vamos a hacer esengańarlo para que se instale en nuestro sistema. żComo? Facil.
3) Con el rar el alzip o alguno de estos programas abriremos elautoejecutable (winvista_15111.exe) y lo extrairemos en una carpeta ennuestro hd (pej c:modriver).
Luego buscaremos dentro de la carpeta c:modrivergraphics un fichero llamadoGraphics/Igdhl.inf
Lo abriremos con el bloc de notas notepad.exe y buscaremos estas 2 sentencias:
%iBWGC0% = i965G0, PCIVEN_8086&DEV_29A2
%iBWGC1% = i965G1, PCIVEN_8086&DEV_29A3
en ambas reemplazaremos el (9) con "7" quedando de esta manera:
%iBWGC0% = i965G0, PCIVEN_8086&DEV_27A2
%iBWGC1% = i965G1, PCIVEN_8086&DEV_27A3
cerraremos el notepad y salvaremos
4) Dentro de C:modriver buscaremos el setup.exe, lo ejecutaremos y LISTO YA ESTA el driver "engańado" comenzara su instalación.
Al final de la instalación nos pedira un reseteo. Resetearemos no sinantes unos minutos de "off" y de tan solo brillanteos de Disco Duro.... ?????
Al final nuestro VISTA arrancara y tanto por las propiedades deescritorio como por el administrador de dispositivos podremos comprobarque estaremos funcionando como con una "965gm".
5) El ultimo paso sera registrar nuestros juegos en el registro del driver.
Para ello editaremos un fichero nuevo con el bloc de notas notepad.exe en el escritorio e inclueremos estas sentencias:

donde nombre del juego.exe es el nombre del ejecutable de cada juego(que lo podemos averiguar reiniciando cada juego en procesos deladministrador de tareas) ejemplos: hl2.exe, a51.exe, halo.exe....
meteremos una linea por cada uno de nuestros juegos y correspondienteejecutable y lo grabaremos en el escritorio con el nombre addgame.reg.
como ejemplo pongo mi addgame.reg:

Finalmente clikaremos en el addgame.reg del escritorio para agregaresta información al registro, aceptaremos y listo (no hace faltaresetear) LOS JUEGOS SE EJECUTARAN CON LA FABULOSA EMULACION DEL DRIVER965GM.
Cuando queremos agregar mas juegos, los pondremos en la lista,salvaremos las modificaciones y volveremos a clickear el addgame.regnuevo.
Para sacar los juegos de la emulación (en caso de que alguno funcione mal o para hacer pruebas) cambiaremos el 1 por 0.
De esta manera yo he conseguido jugar sin problemas todos los juegos de la lista de surfy: http://945gmshooters.fullblog.com.ar/post/shooters-945gm-vista-661242258534
Yo el truco lo pille de un hilo donde corren los de la gma950 pero lainformación estaba superdesperdiga, el enlace al driver vista no era elcorrecto... en fin no me fue facil. Espero que a todos los usuarios945gm este blog os sea de utilidad y si es asi ya sabeis no sobran loscomentarios. En cuanto a tí JOSE VILLEGAS pues eso que esto es un pocotuyo tambien.
Por último solo deciros que para WINDOWS XP el truco es basicamente elmismo pero el fichero del driver es otro que debereis buscar porinternet. Es la version 1545 para 965gm pero en su versión XP. Buscadloque lo encontrareis.
Este truco no funciona en otras versiones de los driver de Intel 965gm que no sean los 1545.

Che sabes no me funciona porque mi versión de chipset es “945g”(no 945gm). Y mi vendor ID es : 8086 (no 27A2).
Quisiera saber si conoces alguna manera de aplicarle este mod a una “945g”.
